A Couple of Interesting Food Blogs

I mostly try to stay away from the food blogosphere, since I'm able to waste an unfortunate amount of time there. However, there are two blogs I've discovered recently with some really original and delicious content.

She Simmers is written by a Thai-American foodie, who posts a lot about Thai foods ranging from the classic to the much more obscure. I found this blog by way of a recipe for a rather obscure dessert I really enjoyed in Thailand: tab tim grob, or false pomegranate seeds. American fried rice is another interesting bit of food culture lore. Oh, and she does write about other styles of cooking as well, from American to Japanese. I love the in-depth explanations about how to make all these things from scratch.

Playing With Fire and Water skirts the edges of molecular gastronomy, featuring things like inside-out cake, recipes for wild plants, and unusual flavor combinations. Overall, it's just really informative and good for both solid techniques and new ways to think about food.
