Ayurveda Addendum - Vedic Hymn to Plants

Also, I just thought this Veda excerpt was pretty awesome:

Plants, which as receptacles of light were born three ages before the gods, I honor your myriad colors and your seven hundred natures.

A hundred, oh mothers, are your natures, and a thousand are your growths
. May you of a hundred powers make whole that which has been hurt.

Plants, as mothers and goddesses, I address you. May I gain energy, light, and sustenance, you who are a conscious being...

If I were looking for something to chant in Sanskrit, this would be highly satisfactory.

  1. I became interested in Ayurveda a while back, and I definitely think western medicine, and even just the casual reader has something to gain from not only this, but all the traditional medicines. My problem is sifting out the crap. I can't believe swallowing string then pulling it back up is good for you, nor drinking your own urine, or that rhino horn really does help impotency. I really do respect them, and anyone interested in them as well... just, for myself I needed a clearer method.
